Kampala → Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary → Murchison

Early departure from Kampala. Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for guided foot tracking of Uganda's only wild rhinos. Continue to Murchison Falls NP. Afternoon game drive. Overnight lodge.

Day 2

Nile Boat Cruise + Top of Falls Hike

Morning 3-hour boat cruise from Paraa to the base of Murchison Falls — hippo pools, Nile crocodiles, and elephant at the riverbank. Afternoon hike to the top of the falls for the full waterfall experience. Game drive back. Overnight Murchison.

Day 3

North Bank Game Drive → Kampala

Dawn game drive on the North Bank for lion, giraffe, leopard and buffalo herds. Drive back to Kampala, arriving evening.

When is Murchison best visited?

Dry seasons (January—February, June—September) are best. The park is excellent year-round but roads are easier in dry weather.

Will I see the Big Five?

Murchison has lion, elephant, buffalo and leopard. Rhinos are at Ziwa Sanctuary nearby. It's the closest Uganda gets to a traditional Big Five park.

Is the waterfall hike difficult?

No — a 20-minute walk from the boat drop-off brings you to the top of the falls. Easy terrain, suitable for all fitness levels.
