Kampala → Kidepo (fly or drive)

Optional morning flight to Kidepo (45 min) or full-day drive (8–9 hrs) through Gulu. Afternoon game drive in Narus Valley. Overnight Apoka Lodge.

Day 2

Full Day Kidepo Game Drive

Full day exploring Narus and Kidepo Valleys. Search for cheetah, lion, leopard, Besia oryx, Rothschild giraffe and large elephant bulls. Sundowner on the valley rim. Overnight Apoka.

Day 3

Cultural Visit — Karimojong Village + Night Drive

Morning visit to a traditional Karimojong manyatta community — warrior jumping, traditional dress, storytelling. Afternoon rest. Optional night game drive for aardvark, civets and genet. Overnight Apoka.

Day 4

Morning Game Drive → Return

Final dawn game drive in the golden light of Narus Valley. Fly or drive back to Kampala.

Should I fly or drive to Kidepo?

The drive is an adventure in itself through Acholi and Karamoja regions, but it's 8–9 hours each way. The 45-minute charter flight is worth it for short trips and we recommend it for 4-day packages.

Is Kidepo safe?

Yes — Kidepo is fully safe for tourists. The park has been secure for over a decade and the remote setting is part of its appeal. Our guides are highly experienced in the region.

What makes Kidepo different from other Uganda parks?

The landscape — open arid savannah framed by mountains on three sides. The wildlife mix includes species not found elsewhere in Uganda (cheetah, bat-eared fox, Beisa oryx). And the near-total absence of other tourists.
