★★★★★

The chimps were incredible — so human-like and so close. The Bigodi walk on day 3 was a beautiful surprise; 3 hours and we saw 8 primate species.

★★★★

Great short trip from Nairobi. Kibale exceeded expectations. The crater lakes around Fort Portal are stunning — could have spent another day there easily.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Helpful answers before you send an inquiry.

Is chimp sighting guaranteed?

Kibale has the highest chimp density in Uganda and sightings are very reliable. On rare low-activity days your permit may be extended or rescheduled.

How is chimp trekking different from gorilla trekking?

Chimps move fast and are very vocal — it's a more dynamic, chase-style experience. Gorilla trekking is calmer and more intimate. Many visitors do both.

Is 4 days enough?

Yes — Kibale can be comfortably done in 4 days. Extend to 6 days to add Queen Elizabeth NP and Ishasha lions.
