Day 1

Kampala → Bwindi via Kabale

Drive through Kabale district to Bwindi. Afternoon forest orientation walk. Overnight Bwindi.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking Day

Gorilla trek with UWA rangers — 1 hour with habituated gorilla family in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Rest of day at leisure.

Day 3

Bwindi — Second Activity Day

Optional gorilla habituation experience (full day with gorillas) or guided community walk with the Batwa indigenous community. Overnight Bwindi.

Day 4

Lake Bunyonyi Canoe Day

Transfer to the shores of Lake Bunyonyi. Full day canoe on 29 islands. Swim, birdwatch, or relax. Overnight lakeside.

Day 5

Bunyonyi → Lake Mburo National Park

Drive northeast to Lake Mburo NP — Uganda's smallest national park and the country's only habitat for zebra. Afternoon game drive. Overnight lodge.

Day 6

Lake Mburo — Boat Cruise + Game Drive

Early morning game drive. Midday launch cruise on Lake Mburo for hippo, crocodile and 350 bird species. Afternoon walking safari. Overnight lodge.

Day 7

Lake Mburo → Kampala

Morning game drive. Drive back to Kampala, arriving midday. Airport transfer available.

What is the gorilla habituation experience?

Unlike standard trekking (1 hour), habituation allows 4 hours with a gorilla family still being trained to accept human presence. A more intensive and intimate experience — costs extra.

Does Lake Mburo have the Big Five?

Not the traditional Big Five. But Mburo has zebra, hippo, buffalo, leopard, topi and over 350 bird species. It's excellent for walking safaris.

What is the DRC extension?

From Bwindi it's possible to arrange a day trip or overnight across to DRC for a double-gorilla experience. This requires advance visa arrangements — contact us.
