★★★★★

Watching a silverback from two metres away — nothing in 40 years of travel compares. Kyobe's ranger knew exactly where to find them.

The logistics were seamless — pickup on time, permit ready, no surprises. Lake Bunyonyi on day 3 was an unexpected highlight.

★★★★

Tough hike but totally worth it. The guide shared so much about gorilla behaviour. Would add a 4th day next time!

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Helpful answers before you send an inquiry.

How fit do I need to be?

Moderate fitness is recommended. Treks range 1–6 hours on steep, muddy terrain. Porter hire is available and strongly recommended for non-hikers.

When is the best time to visit?

Dry seasons (June—September, December—February) offer the best trekking conditions. Gorillas are viewable year-round.

How far in advance must I book?

Peak season permits sell out 6 months ahead. Low season trips need 3–4 weeks notice. Book as early as possible.

Is the gorilla permit really included?

Yes — the $800 UWA permit is included. We secure it on booking confirmation. Note: permits are non-refundable.

Can I extend to Rwanda or DRC?

Yes. We can arrange double-gorilla experiences (Uganda + Rwanda) or add a Nyungwe chimp trek. Use the inquiry page to customise.
